The home is situated in an ideal location halfway between the Gold Coast theme parks and the delights of Tamborine Mountain. Kingfisher Meadow is perfect for family holidays or groups and is within walking distance of the Gold Coast Motor Museum and Stanley's Barn Restaurant and Bar. This relaxed, older style home with two fully self contained living areas is high set and overlooks a peaceful 8 acre block fronting Wongawallan Creek.
The house has the character and finishes of an older home. There are 2 storeys with separate fully self-contained living spaces on each level. Access between the two levels is via EXTERNAL STAIRS. The main space is upstairs where you will find kitchen, dining and living spaces, a sunroom, 4 bedrooms and a bathroom with separate toilet. The upstairs living area is air conditioned. The bedrooms are not air conditioned and have fans. There is a slow combustion fireplace.
You are welcome to bring an OUTSIDE dog. We charge a $100 fee. IMPORTANT: if bringing your dog you MUST select yes to the pets option when booking.
Upstairs there are two large verandas front and back, running the full length of the house with outdoor dining and BBQ. The back deck overlooks the property and has forest views.
On the lower level you will find a second kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The laundry is on this level. The downstairs level is air conditioned. Large groups can find some privacy and peace and quiet or watch TV and play games separate from the guests upstairs. There is another deck running the full length of the downstairs area.
You can relax around the outside firepit and enjoy the sunset forest views. Folding tables and chairs are provided for picnics.
All six well appointed bedrooms have brand new Koala or Ecosa mattresses. We provide linen and towels.
Kingfisher meadow has off street driveway parking but there is no undercover parking.
You can walk or take an AWD vehicle down a long steep driveway onto the field where you can enjoy a paddle or soak in Wongawallan creek if the conditions are right (i.e. not in flood or drought). The creek is about 200m away from the house. Please note that the creek is not suitable for diving and jumping as there are shallow rocks and boulders. Children must be supervised as it is overhead depth in some places. There is a composting toilet.
The property has a neighbour nearby. We expect that with 12 guests in the house there will be music, loud conversations, laughter and good times! Under normal circumstances, the noise does not bother our neighbour. Of course, parties with extra people and very loud music are not allowed. If you are worried about this, see the map included in the photos of the property for the location of the neighbour.
