Summary: We stayed at this property for three nights the first week of December and used it as a place to sleep. We were gone early every morning for hiking and beach activities and didn't get back until after dark.
The property is clean and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare meals; refrigerator, oven, cooktop, microwave, coffee maker, utensils and even assorted condiments left by previous guests. There was hot water in the bathroom and the window A/C unit kept the bedroom at the 65 degrees that my wife needs to be able to sleep. The owner had clearly made some recent improvements.
While this property worked out great for our needs, there are a few things to be aware of to determine if this property is for you.
There are exactly three small rooms; a bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. This rental is on a property with another larger rental, and they are only 10 feet apart. Both rentals are equipped with glass awning crank windows that don't seal when closed. This results in hearing the conversations going on in the adjacent rental. There is no parking with this rental. There is a school two blocks away at which you can parallel park if all of the spots aren't full. The neighborhood is somewhere between working-class and sketchy. Some houses are well kept, while others have knee high grass and junk cars parked in the yard.
While this rental worked for our needs (and we'd be willing to rent it again), you can see that it won't work for everyone.

Summary: Such a great little spot near town center Kailua! About 5 min from the beach by car. Really clean, although more towels would have been great. Check in originally said 4 but they wouldn’t let me in till 5pm. After a 12hour travel day that was a little annoying BUT island time is a thing.
No closet, but was able to hang stuff behind the door. Renters in the main house were pretty loud late at night so probably best to bring ear plugs.

Summary: I enjoyed this simple setting more than my spouse. I had everything we needed and was close to Kailua town and beaches. Very basic. Sounds of nearby family bothered my spouse in morning. He would have liked a sitting area to relax. We enjoyed sitting in the side deck surrounded by greenery and private.

Summary: The parking access needs improvement. I had to park two blocks away, which was very inconvenient.
The TV is on the wrong wall. It is awkward to view it from the bed. Either turn the bed to face the TV or move the TV to the wall in front of the TV.
Otherwise, it was great!

Summary: This is a great property for one or two people who want to be close to restaurants and do not want to pay top dollar for a place.
